Air India: The Unusual Art Collector of India

The art collection of Air India includes 7,000 items and 4,000 paintings. From the year 2011-2014, the illustrious paintings valued at ₹ 300 crore were stolen by the former employees of Air India.

In 2012, Air India received a huge bail-out package of ₹ 30,000 crore from the Union Government. Each Indian household has paid ₹ 1,200 for the loss-making operations of the national carrier.

Is it justified for Air India to own illustrious paintings while forcing taxpayers to pay for its debt, inefficiencies and poor management?
